My students often reveal a vague and muddled view of the events of the day. This may account for some of the anxiety that they exhibit. I often start a session with one of these lessons to ground the discussion in authentic personal experiences. Use of the smart phone and tablet has been a true game changer in these activities.

Day Drawing/Fill-in: Student or therapist draws the activity and labels each part. Then the narrative is written at the bottom using the fill-ins. A dialogue is completed with wh- questions to review the events.     (Printable-blank form)

Record/Review

Day Recording/Review: After the student or therapist draws the activity and labels each part. Then a dialogue is completed using a smart phone for video. Each item is checked as it is described. Then the video can be reviewed and each item is checked again as it is heard. (Printable-blank form)



Where/What/Who Grid

Wh- Grid Fill-in: This grid can be drawn with or by the student. The column titles are added for where, what, and who. Using a note app on a tablet that allows drawing and saving works very nicely. Paper and pencil can be used but at a great loss of efficiency. (Printable-blank form)
